Description
These homemade jalapeno poppers are stuffed with cream cheese and cheddar, seasoned with garlic and paprika, and baked or air fried until golden. A halal-friendly appetizer that’s crispy, creamy, and always a crowd favorite.
Ingredients
12 fresh jalapeños (halved lengthwise, seeds and ribs removed for less heat)
8 oz cream cheese (softened for easy mixing)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or Monterey Jack for a milder option)
2 cloves garlic (minced, or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for a smoky kick)
1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular, for crunch)
8 slices halal beef bacon
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cut jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove seeds and ribs.
3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
4. Spoon or pipe the filling into each jalapeño half.
5. Optional: wrap each stuffed jalapeño with half a slice of halal beef or turkey bacon, or sprinkle with breadcrumbs for crunch.
6. Place stuffed peppers on a parchment-lined baking sheet or air fryer basket.
7. Bake for 20–25 minutes in oven, or air fry for 12–15 minutes, until cheese is bubbling and tops are golden.
8. Let cool slightly before serving with dipping sauces.
